LESSONS

WHAT WE OFFER

In our lesson program, personalized coaching, varied skill acquisition, and a comprehensive approach to horsemanship are at the forefront of our teaching philosophy.

Group lessons, never exceeding five riders, provide a unique blend of individualized attention and the chance to observe and learn from fellow riders. Semiprivate lessons, with two riders, and private lessons, individually tailored, both last thirty minutes. Our structured lessons allocate at least half the time to flatwork and the remainder to jumping. Some sessions, guided by your coach's discretion, may focus entirely on flatwork, recognizing its equal importance in refining your riding skills. Emphasizing horsemanship, theory-based lessons delve into horse management, tack understanding, exploration of different disciplines, and groundwork skills.

Group lessons with three or four riders extend to sixty minutes. If, for any reason, a group lesson comprises two or fewer riders, it converts to a thirty-minute semiprivate lesson. This ensures both horses and riders receive consistent attention, maintaining fairness in their workloads.

Invoicing is conducted via email, with payments due upon receipt. Email money transfer is preferred, and while cheques are accepted, cash payments are regretfully not. Invoices paid after the fifth day of each month incur a late fee of $5.00 per day. Lessons must be utilized within the invoiced month. Make-up lessons are available with proper notice; cancellations must be made at least twenty-four hours in advance to avoid billing and forfeit of a make-up lesson. To qualify for the monthly package rate, a minimum of four lessons per month is required. Riders opting for fewer than four sessions are subject to the single lesson fee.

Arriving thirty minutes before the lesson start time is mandatory for riders to groom and tack up their assigned horse. Guidance is always provided for those still learning helping riders to become independent in preparing their own horse before each lesson.

Coaches assign horses, and while efforts are made to maintain pairings, no specific horse is reserved or guaranteed. Trust your coach to optimize horse assignments for your development. For those interested in consistent horse interaction, inquire about our leasing program for a more specialized experience.

To join the school, we require all potential riders undertake and evaluation lesson which includes a facility tour and a thirty minute assessment lesson. This allows you to meet our instructors and our horses, as well as make sure the way we do things is for you.
