Learn To Ride Program
The Equestrian Canada (EC) Learn to Ride Programs are aimed at individuals who wish to become well-rounded horse people, who are able to care for and ride their horses in a correct and safe manner and wish to be recognized for doing so at a national level.
Organized into levels (English Learn to Ride Levels 1 – 10), the LTR programs develop standard practical hands on stable management and riding skills, which are accompanied by written theory tests. Stable management components and a ridden evaluation also test the rider on their knowledge learned at each specific level.
$75 + GST per Rider level test
Includes: Practical/Stable Management, Flat and Jumping phases of test and use of a school horse
plus $25 + GST per Written Test
We actively attempt to integrate topics of all the rider levels into daily lessons. Once your feel you are ready to test for a certain level, talk to your coach.
It is highly recommended those who wish to pursue their riding level purchase "Rider Development Manuals" from the Alberta Equestrian Federation. These manuals outline what is expected at each level and will prepare you for all phases of your rider level tests (Flat, Jumping, Stable Management and Written). These manuals are not mandatory.
